How to Choose the right linear drain?

We understand that sometimes it is difficult to understand and identify which linear drain is right for your project. We made a list of facts that can help you to go in the right direction

Price: There is a linear drain for each budget, the price depends on the material, the thickness, functionality, and the design. The standard size is the perfect balance in price. 

Installation difficulty:  Installing a linear drain is easy, the only that require time for assembly and construction on-site are the adjustable drain, otherwise installation is as easy as a regular square drain or even easier.

Waterproofing method:  Depending on the waterproofing method to be used there is a recommended linear shower drain.

Outlet location: The location of the outlet in the shower is a very important factor to decide. If the location is centered in relation to the shower, then you can use any you like. Now, if the outlet is not in the right location, then you have three options: 

1- Pay for moving the pipe. 

2- Use an adjustable linear drain that you can build on site and place the outlet anywhere on the channel. 

3- Supreme, where you can just center your drain without doing anything if the outlet is within an 8” range from centered in any direction.

Multiple outlet: If your shower has multiple outlets but needs only one single drain then the best option is adjustable linear drain.

Size Available: Fixed size are available in 12”, 24”, 32”, 36”, 48” and 58”.

The adjustable linear drains are flexible, their size can be adjusted to any specific size on site or joined to create any length. Adjustable kits come in 36”, 48”, 60” 72” and 96”.

The Supreme drain is available in 30”, 40” 50” and 60”, however, the grate can be cut to specific length and Supreme tile-in is one size fits all linear drain.

Finish: Another way to find the right drain is to start by selecting the finish, there are available in Satin, Polished, Satin Gold, Bronze, and Matte Black.

Placement: Anywhere is the right answer, linear drains can be placed anywhere within the shower, the most common location is against the wall, but don’t limit your options to just that, there are many ways to place it, it all depend on the design, the location of the outlet and the tile you choose.

Application: If the linear drain is all made of Stainless steel 316, can be installed outside or inside, if it is built partially or completely in 304 SS, then it is recommended to use it only indoors.

Outdoor application: Linear drains can be used outside for pools, decks, outdoor kitchens, outdoor showers, terraces, balconies, driveways etc.
